About this note

A historical reconstruction of a question pursued from approximately 2005 to 2012: how a free helicity-one representation, gauge potential, positive-metric string-localized carrier, scattering amplitude, and confined observable consequence can—or cannot—be recognized as the same gluonic physical content.

Edition and scope

Version 1.0 — public website edition, September 2026.

This is a public historical research note, not a peer-reviewed research article. It does not prove confinement, a Yang–Mills mass gap, or the existence of an exact interacting gluon carrier. Its central conclusion is interpretive: representation, field realization, localization, and amplitude data each identify part of the gluon problem, but none alone identifies the interacting confined object.
